It's been how long???????

Oh my goodness me what a bad blogger I a, I am so very sorry it has been 2 whole weeks since my last blog post bioy where has the time gone. It's been so busy here with cards of all sorts (none to post aboput though  hence the absence :o( sorry) but I do have a couple to share with you and I will show one now and one later maybe tomorrow ar monda.
Any how are you all good I hope have you missed me (bet not oh well) we had a mad week this week it wa the Match Attax swap and collect tournament this week (the what??????????????? Ihear you ask) it's an event that is put every year by match atax fpr people that collect them and for the kids that know how to play the game?????? :o/(I have no idea) anyway we went to a couple of the venues as you should all know this is Phil's line of work so we needed to get the limited editions that were available from there and also they do auctions for signed cards and footy shirts but you only bid with cards not money.
Anyway these events are spread across the country over a 2 week course and this last week it was at the Villa ground (we wiped our feet on the way out lol) and Bolton (Rebok) and then finally at Newcastle (St James) we went to bolton and decided to stay over night as it was silly coming home only to have to travekl back up there the next day to get to Newcastle so that's what we did only on our way from Bolton we stopped off in Burnely and I was rather naughty and surpeised a very dear blogging friend of mine she had no idea I was going to turn up so you can imagine the look of total shock on her face when I walked into her living room. We have been friends for a couple of years now talking almost every day via email we even call each other now and then but we had never actually met until Wednesday and it was lovely to finally be able to give her a massive hug for being such a lovely friend.
Anyway we got home latish Thursday evening and as you can imagine I have been suffering since with the pain in my ears everywhere was so loud people shouting , on mics  kids screaming plus the noise in the car travelling aaarrrrggghhhhhhhh.
So on to my card can you believe it's been a year since Amy's 21st Birthday yes this coming Frinday she will be 22 ( did you know that comes after 21 yeah it does I know shock) so of course I have had to get cards done for the fami;y to send. I have already shown the one I did for my mom to send Here but need to get one done for both Carol (Phil's Mom) and May (Phil's Nan Amy's Great Nan) to give and they needed them for this weekend  eeekkkkkk best get me finger out. So what did I come up with with a mojo that is only working part time well I shall show you
papers are freebies as per and I went for a precoloured image which is by an artist called Bella Pilar this image is so apt for Amy as she acts like such a Princess at time (she will not appreciate that comment lol)so that is why I went with it
I kept it very simple adding just some pink gems and a fussy black organza bow

and as you can see taking a paper to match the top in the image. I distressed the edges of the papers and inked with DI's picke raspberry black soot and iced spruce then matted onto white card

the sentiment was created on my computer and I also made the insert to match
and of course regular readers will know that every card I make for May has to have a good verse in so I did a double whammy for this one and brought the image in to tie it all together. And that is about it I will love and leave you and see you all soon.
these are the challenges I am entering the card into

Eternally Yours

Hello everyone and a big hello to my new followers I do hope you stay with me and enjoy the ride.
Well things have been hectic again here with Phil's cards so this card has taken me over a week to get done. I printed it out about 10 days ago before last weekend anyway and managed to put the actual card together one night this week can't remember which but as it's a large card 8x8" I like to have an overlap at the back to cover the jopin so that had to dry aswell.
Then I wanted to make some flowers for it so I managed to get these done yesterday and stuck on so here it is
I really wanted to make a gothic card again as I haven't made any for what seems like ages, but I wanted to use normal papers not gothic ones
the papers are all frebies (as usual) and from different blog trains (you really shoukd jump on some it's a great ride and loads of goodies along the way)

the LO is a sketch from bearly mine

As you can see I have kept as close to the sketch as possible
The image is one I have had for ages and used early last year in blog hop for smeared ink so as it's been that long since I used it and I really do love this image I thought I wouldm use it again

I inked the image completely with versa mark ink then went over with clear embossing powder I then heated it and repeated the process on the 3rd and last time instead of using clear powder I used holographic to add a little pow! to it the as soon as it was melted popped it the freezer. If any of you have never heard of the method you really should try it leave it in for 10 mins or longer if you can. Because the image is still warm from the heating when you put it in the freezer it obviously causes it to cool really quick then when you fetchit out and bend the paper (you have to do this pretty quickly as once out of freezer it tends to warm up with in seconds) and it will start to crack as you bend it don't over do this as sometime the embossing can crack so much that the image starts to peel or flake off (not a good look).
When you're happy with cracks get an ink pad I used black soot and cover the image then using  some kitchen roll rub the access away you will find that the colour seeps into the cracks giving an old aged look and that is what you want.

Here is a side view of image the light is hitting better and you can see the cracks and the holographic powder

Now for these blooming flowers Thanks to a very talented lady called chelsea who makes the most beautiful  paper and material flowers she has a few tutorials on her blog and I have been trying my hand at making them or similar made with the same products
These are all made with either coffee filter papers or watercolour paper/card and coloured with DI's and aqua markers

The little ones and the spikey ones are made from dies from cheery lynnes the carnation (type) are using scallope spellbinder circle dies

so there you have my card for today I hope you like it and I will leave you with a list of challenges I an entering it into

Caught in crystal

Hello every one I hope you're all well and have a good week ahead planned.
I have seen around blog land the caught in crystal technique and really wanted to have a go as I just love getting messy :o) and had an idea of what I wanted to do but wasn't sure if it would work but thought to heck with it and did it anyway ;O0
This is the end result

the papers are from making cardsmagazine but the smaller one was very pale so I inked all over it with DI then scrunched it and went over again using a mix of antique linen frayed burlap and pumice stone the re inkers victorian velevet and tattered lace.
I printed part of the sentiment straight onto the papers

the bird cages and butterflies are candle and cup cake holders I cut the elements out of and heat embossed.
I printed the image onto printable acetatethen I used the pledge (klear) wax version of the technique (remember not to put the wax on the side you printed on as ot just comes off and goes a yukkie colour :o(  yep I had to re print lol)
then I added re inkers and the blobs you can see I wanted what would happen if I mix alcohol inks with  it and that is happened as the ink hit the wax it sort of hardens and flakes  but I thought it made it look a little aged so kept it on then I just added different shades and coarseness of glitter added tissue and left to dry over night then cut down to size matted onto white card and then added to card.

I added ribbon and lace with a bow and also added ribbon to the bird cages I then added flat backed pearls to the ribbon lengths.
I added liquid pearls to the butterflies and added to the tags (the heart is made from shrink plastic then glittered)

you can see the glitter in this pic and so I wiull leave you with that and below is a list of challenges I am entering it into
see you soon

Sending Hugs

Good afternoon to you, I hope I find you all well. I couldn't believe how nippy the air turned last week and had to put the heating on again!!! :o(
Happy Mother's day to all you Mom's too I hope you are being spoiled rotten I had a lovely bottle of the new Alien perfume by Thierry Mugler  it's delicious
Right well I do hae a card for you today, It's one I started last week and didn't get chance to finish then I saw a tut anout making some flowers so decided I wanted to have a go at those and put them on this card, so that is what i soent most of yesterday doing and what fun it was too!

So as you can see I have gone with a colour I don't usually use  yellow. Now I have nothing at all against the colour but for some reason I never choose to use it, so this was a conscious decision but of course I had to add some pink ;O) then matted it all onto yellow card which I distressed the papers and card have been inked with DI squeezed lemonade, mustard seed and worn lipstick.
All papers are freebies mainly from pixel scapper using yellow polka dots (I do love my polka dots) and stripes which have been faux matted onto pink paper I used a digital ribbon strip across the centre

Now for the image how adorable is she I decided to treat myself to some new digi's and seeing as I want so many I did my eany meany miny mo and ending up with Mo Manning and so glad I did I treated myself to 3 images and this is one of them it's called broked and can be found here

I coloured her with pro/ flexi markers
colours used are

Nutmeg, sunkissed pink, blush, satin, pastel pink (skin)
Aurburn, rosewood, burnt umber (hair)
Primrose, lemon, yellow, mustard, carmine, hot pink (clothes)
Antique white, soft khaki, champagne, sandstone cappuccino (bear)

I then decided to fussy cut around her and mount her with 3D foam onto some pink card cut out with an Xcut scalloped edge die

I made the sentiment on my computer and using a section of the striped and pink paper then mounted that onto yellow card card.
I then made a shabby bow using gauze/cheese cloth (which ever you prefer to call it I say gauze as I got it from my local chemist)
I inked the gauize with the same DI as on card then added a spacer on the knot just for decor purpose

Now for the flowers boy did I have a blast yesterday and I have to say a big thank you to Chelsea for the tutorias and inspiration (she makes the most beautiful flowers and makes it look so easy too)
the ones on this card are all made using coffee fliter papers and are coloured using the above DI plus picked raspberry and also aqua markers
I used dies from dies to die for they are cheery Lynns cuties and then some metal flower shapes I cut round
the peony style flowers I have used micro beads for the centre but not sure if you can see then in the picture the beads are from a £ shop and is actually nail caviar but you know me I never use anything for it's purpose :o) and yes I made them all

I then coloured some flat backed pearls and added those for a little something more and there you have it
the colour was totally out of my comfort zone but I am thrilled with how it turned out and I hope you like it too
I will leave you with an arty view of image and a list of challenges I am entering this into
enjoy the rest of you week

Final Mother's day card ...

For this year at least :oD

Good morning my lovelies, I hope you are all refreshed fine and dandy after a beautiful weekend, although yesterday and today there was and is a distinctive nip in the air but it's sunny so all good :oD
I finished my final mother's day card for 2014 yesterday and again I'm pleased with the outcome,The only trouble is I don't know if the recipient will be :o(
I made this card for Phil to send to his mom and  she hates green cannot stand it what ever the shade, an d I have known this for almost as long as I have known her so why when I make a card for her I always seem to put green in it why??????
 anyhooo here it is

All papers are freebies and have been distressed and inked with spun sugar DI then matted onto green card

this is the sketch I used for LO

I used this super cute image that is pre coloured and this is where the green came dfrom as I wanted to tie it all together with the colours in this image

I made the rosette again from freebie papers and printed onto the really thick linen effect paper I have been using and love.
I stitched the papers into place then added geen and pink ribbon and made a fussy bow out of the pink

I made a little heart tag and added a flat backed gem to which I coloured with a promarker and added 3 more to the side of card

and there you have it a pretty simple but sweet mother's day card.
I will leave you with an arty view of image and a list of challenges I'm entering this into.

See you soon

With Love because you're special

Hiya I hope you are all haveing a great weekend it's a little nippy here today so we had to put heating on to take the chill off (bbbrrrrr)
I want to say hello to my new followers I hope you will stay with me and enjoy what you see, can you believe 3 posts in 3 days record breaker :o)
Well I didn't make the paper shelter DT but never mind maybe it's a good thing if the card I have for you today is anything to go by. Believe it or not I started this card about 9.30pm on friday and finished it about 11.30 pm last night  (of course breaks in between lol:o0 ) and not in a bad way either, it wasn't because things where going wrong, it was just because I was getting messy and totally enjoying making it (and watching the voice at same time when that came on hehe)

As you may remeber I told you I had the house to myself yesterday Phil wasn't happy when he came home as his team (West Brom) had lost (again) he was hoarse from all the shouting as he always is but not a happy bunny at all :o(

anyway onto my card I really hope you like it I seemed to throw everything into this and I'm so happy with it it has to be one of my favs

the card is quite a biggie it's nearly 8" square I think it needed to be to take everything (lol)
I used some of the same papers I used on yesterdays card the main one from Nancy watt
all others are freebies and matted onto pink card after being distressed and inked with either soun sugar, tattered lace and victorian velvet DI

I added lace which was white but I coloured with freyed burlap DI and added a cram thicker lace on top I also coloured the cheese cloth with antique Linen DI

The butterflies and bird cages are cut from candl;e and cup cake wraps I got from hobby craft I inked the butterlies with spun sugar and victorian velvet DI, then spinkled hologrphic embossing powder over them and heated with gun (I coloured the bodies with tan PM before hand). I then added small flat backed pearls to the bodies.
The bird cages I coloured the birds with cerise pink and baby pink PM then out of another cage I cut out the birds to use as a mask then covered the whole thing with versa fine ink then covered in gold melt dust (this is a very fine embossing powder). Then on one I went over again with the ink and this time covered with silver pearl embossing powder  missing bits on purpose when heated I wasn't overly happy so I added more gold melt dust.

the image is of course a gorgeous Saturated canary image called butterfly princess and I cloured in with pro/ flexi markers

colours used are

Putty, Almond, dusky pink, sunkissed pink, rose pink (skin)

Champagne, sandstone, caramel, burnt sienna (hair)

Pale blossom, fresh bloom, pink pearl, blossom, peony, linen (dress)

then I cut out with spellbinmders label and inked with spun sugar
I coloured some ribbon with spun sugar re inker and dried it with heat gun before making a large fussy bow then added a flat backed gem to it which I also added to image. Every one seems to be using the little tiny tags from LOTV which I think are adorable but haven't got any yet so I decided to make my own for this card and I coloured with tattered lace the emboissed with silver pearl and added sopme of the cream lace I used on card.
The flowers now, I got a little carried away (while watching the voice at this time) and as I didn't  have all the colours I wanted I got a selection of flowers and coloured with various PM's. The flowers range from
hobby househobby craft  the range  and a local pound shop

finally to tie it all in I added the insert which also includes image in bottom corner and a lovely little verse

so there you have it I will leave you with an arty view of image and a list of all challenges I am entering this card into

Another one down and one to go

Hello again yes it's me 3 posts in one week whoop whoop  how will I cope I can't remember the last time I did this it's been so long.
Anyway the card I'm bringing you today is a commissioned card for my MiL to give to her Mom for Mother's Day, Every mother's Day and Father's day I always end up making 2  or 3 of these card as I have to make 1 for my Mom then for Carol and then one for Carol to send to her Mom and father's day just the 2 as I don't have to send one to my Dad as he's no longer with us.
So after a bit of head scratching trying to think of what to make and going through all my images I decided on this
I went with a very light and dusky pink theme to keep it quite girlie.
The papers are freebies the large main piece I think is from Nancy Watt and the others are from rom other freebiw sources (see freebie page for links)

This is the sketch I used for LO

Now for the image haha she is from LOTV of course and when I had a good stamped image I scanned her so she was now digital and luckilyI printed her out twice. I cut her out using an xcut scallop oval and coloured her in using my trusty promarker (colours coming in a mo) and she was looking beautiful een if I do say so myself. Then I got to her cardi and opened my magenta flexi marker and gasp shock horror as I took the lid off some of the ink out of the markrs splodged over the oval cut out, luckily not tiouching the image.
I was all readt to throw her in the bin and start again when I had a light bulb moment (yeah it hurt lol)
instead of starting all over why not just cut her out again using the die and the uncoloured inage then fussy cut around the image already coloured and pop that on top (good thinking batman) so that is what I did
Colours used are

Light fawn, putty, dusky pink (skin)
Buttercup, canary, gold (hair)
Muted pink, pink carnation, rose pink, peony, hot pink, magenta, carmine

I added glitter to the little butterfliesand 3 flower shaped buttons with pink thread tied into bows
some roses from hobby house and some flat backed pearls from The Range

to finish off I added an insert with a fitting mother's day verse and also bringing the image in to tie it all together
And so there you have it I have one more to get done now and that's it for another year :o)
I will leave you with an arty view of image and a list of challenges I am entering it into
see you soon xx
